PERMISSIONS, PERMISSIONS, PERMISSIONS: I sadly had to learn this the hard way when the first time I went to shoot some content. I was unfortunately asked to leave as I had no clue about this concept of getting permission for shooting.
So, if you have professional DSR Camera and plan to up your photography game for your photos.
Heres what you gotta do.
Select your locations where you want to shoot and allot timing and days accordingly.
Once you have done that you need to go to Meraas, Emaar, or the respective developer's website and apply for permission to shoot.
If you are shooting for commercial purpose with tie-ups, there might be a charge. But from my experience as this was all personal photography for content for Magnificent Mayhem. There were absolutely no charges for any permissions.
However, each place required a permission, and you have to mention your purpose of shoot, the photographer/videographer that you will be shooting with, purpose of your shoot, timings for when you want to shoot, and some other standard details.
Permissions can take up to 48 hours to receive. So, I would highly recommend apply as in advance as possible to avoid any last-minute delays or issues.
Once you receive your permissions for wherever you plan to shoot make sure you reach the location a little sooner. So, if you applied to shoot from 3-6. Reach by 2:15-2:30 pm as you have to first go to their main office submit an ID and get a permission badge from them that allows you to freely shoot.
Make sure your photographer has the badge hanging around them, because the security working in all the properties have an eye to catch those without permission and ask you to leave.
Though it is not difficult to get permission and is quite breezy, it is still a process and for someone new to it. It can be overwhelming as it was for me.
